Asad Ata is an Assistant Professor of Supply Chain Management at the Malaysia Institute for Supply Chain Innovation, specializing in various aspects of supply chain optimization and designing for flexibility. His current work deals with SMEs and Value Chain Analysis of perishable commodities with a focus on food and agricultural supply chains. Prior to joining academia he worked in the industry for twelve years on various Supply Chain IT, Telecom and e-Commerce projects. He is a visiting professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and teaches topics on Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Information Systems and Optimization.
